Something Funny from Tumblr

As it made me laugh - due to the inaccuracy and the notion that Vincent Gallo included the blow-job scene in "The Brown Bunny" just to set up his merchandiese section on the homepage where we all know he offers his sperm and his escort services - I want to share this with you. If you've got a Tumblr account, feel free to comment right there ;)

  1. Dear Vinny-po-Pinny,
I am deeply shocked. I'm neither willing nor able to believe the things this person claims. I'm asking you to give a counter statement here.
    Kind regards,
    Estragon

  2. I think this is all part of low frequency exchange he cites as not wanting to release his film or grant interviews which is a shame because id really like to see more films by him.

can you please tell me what Gallo did to Matthew Andrew Drake?

  4. You refer to that quote, right:

"I learned a big lesson. Even if you know somebody famous and you talk to them occasionally and have kept in contact with them for years, they're more than likely still not your friend. Friends are understanding and want to help you. I will most likely not be working with Vincent gallo again. He is a nice guy and I appreciate his various works of art but unfortunately he is not my friend and I don't want to associate myself with him anymore.
    Matthew Andrew Drake"

I don't really know - sounds like something went pretty wrong between those two. If anyone knows more, feel free to share.

    1. And you're a twat about posting anonymously.

Just don't like spam on MY blog - so if you want to have it differently, create a blog, fill it with information and chose to leave the comments postet unapproved, simple as that.

  7. searching the hashtag #vincentgallo on instagram usually yields a few recent photos people have taken with him. There are actually quite a few (at least one a week) and it makes me smile to know he still often roams around out and about.

  8. He grabs a Zombie's love handles after having unkosher meat meals. I'd prefer him doing some real work. He's lazy. Laaaaayyyyzeeeeeeee. He's a lay-zee boy. I'm disappointed.

  9. It makes me smile that he leaves the house at least once a week. And that he ransacks fleas markets. And that he lets other people touch him. That gives me some hope.

  10. He's the greatest—the only one—the only one—the only one

  13. It's very filthy here in L.A., maybe he's just sat down on a milk shake. Including the straw-haw-haw.

  16. Vincent Gallo is as beautiful as Warren Beatty.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Not so much they have in common except the age.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's an enormous effrontery to compare the looks of the universe's most beautiful beau to the physiognomy of a 76 year old only our grandmothers can remember.

  19. @Interim Palim
Have you watched Lilith? Have you watched Micky One? Have you seen The Only Game in Town?

Vincent Gallo is the only movie star who has done what Warren Beatty did in those films.

  20. saw some cool pix of VG on http://schwendinger.co.uk/start_test.htm
    never came across them before.

  21. If Warren Beatty did it, Vinny's not the only one. And Warren Oates had lips. And would you sincerely say, Vincent Gallo is a movie star? Really?

    ReplyDelete
  22. No, VG is an all star. I would say he gives a sh.. about being a movie star. Pah.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Interim Palim

I sincerely think Vincent Gallo is a movie star. Anyone can act, and I don't think he is an actor. Vincent Gallo is a movie star, a real number one.

    @Elana

What is your favorite Warren Oates film?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wait, I hope you didn't mean being a movie star excludes the work of acting? As far as I have seen VG merely plays himself.

  25. Don't know if people have seen, but Johnny 316 is now available on DVD from amazon!!

  27. I always assumed VG's Elizabeth Street apartment was at the corner of Spring+Elizabeth. In an old interview, the interviewer called him from a payphone on spring and Vincent saw him from his window. That's why I always thought that. BUT in the Postcard from William Burroughs (in the VG book I think) the address is 232 (street name is blacked out). It may be a different street but if it is Elizabeth then that's closer to Prince. Just being a creep.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No, that's not creepy. I'm not sure, did V saw him from his window or another window from across? I think he came across a street then.
He doesn't have that apartment anymore, does he?

  30. Dear Mel: Is this the end of an era? Is this the end of "Why Vincent Gallo?" Since, the man has retired from the public, enjoys his obsessions isolated and alone.

  31. I hope not - I do hope we'll have some news anytime soon or I'll have to dig up old stuff ;)

  34. Dear Mel: Me again, so this is forever. :-) Your continuous enthusiasm is outstanding. But - do we really want old stuff? Anna

  35. Vincent Gallo will always be the best.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's absolutely ok to retire at the age of 62.

  37. The way the sentence is written I think it says

other performers, which drew the likes of [Names, Vincent] included:

he was drawn to attend the event, not perform at it. though I don't think he would have been drawn there by the performers, but because of his pal Rick.

Anyway that's how I read it. Would have been cool if he did play. He has a show in April anyway. AND a birthday.

go to drowninginbrown.com and it's easier to post without waiting in a queue. Maybe we could make it a positive bulletin board.

  38. VG will make a movie he actually intends to release!

    http://variety.com/2014/film/international/weerasethakul-reygadas-noe-gallo-dorrie-link-for-short-cuts-exclusive-1201144669/

Only a few months until the WC so it should be available soon.

  40. not really
I guess Gallo is telling people to take pictures off of tumblr.com - sad, because it's tiresome seeing the same Buffalo 66 pics over and over again.
he's been out and about a little, he went to a movie premiere and an art opening in LA recently but I don't think any pics has surfaced.
