Dear Mr Gallo

An open letter to Vincent Gallo - regarding the "services" offered on his homepage - has been written by VICE and I think it's quite a nice read in a slow news time.

  1. It's stupid. Just another person who doesn't get him.

  2. HAHA I cant post on the vice site (facebook wants to access my info???) but I wanted to post:

    "Great open letter from 2007"
    or
"While we're talking about things from almost 8 years ago... can you review Bloc Party's first album?"

  3. why did you put this up? Seriously? Why? It is not at all interesting nor is it about Vincent Gallo. It is just someone trying to cling to the atmosphere the air of what it could potentially be like to talk to Vincent for 3 minutes. I really hope he didn't reply. I hate it when people treat Vincent as a freak to be seen in an old time circus sideshow. This is what this vice writer is trying to do. Excuse me mam'? How does it feel to grow a moustache? Delete it. Don't give them the satisfaction of them thinking what they did is interesting, what they asked is current. It is all wrong, wrong wrong wrong.

    1. I make this blog for ME in the first place and I put up whatever I want in here because it's mine. If you don't like it, don't follow it, don't read it. Simple as that.

  4. why do you take this personally? it is not an attack on you? and I do not come here often. I do not read it, follow it, as you say it is a slow news kind of time I thought maybe something new came about so I checked. You should ask Vincent Why he has been in New York a lot lately, or if he has been collaborating on anything recently, write him and ask him if there is any news you can share.
Don't you also want to know what new things he has been working on? Instead of what some person wanting some kind of glorification because they write for vice magazine and it is cool to write to Vincent, asked him? Do they even like him?

  5. Applause, Mel.
I think this open letter is absurd, too. But this is what we are here for - discussing - aren´t we? And it's Vincent as well who gives people the change to write or say things like that about or to him, so he has to cope with that. And I guess he can.

  7. So why has he been in New York a lot lately then?

  8. My hint: helping Sandy victims and sandy victims, de-stacking sandbags, sweeping and dusting, building houses and sound studios for New York... and stuff.

  9. And why has he got a handicap plate in his SAAB???

  10. super lame letter, not funny at all and didn't seem very sincere

  11. No, Vincent. Not funny at all.

  14. Uuuuuuuh, poor Ms Haskell. Drowning in brown, erm, sweat. I wonder if Vincent takes money for sweat, too. Bah.

  15. Oh, what a pity he got rid of his curls and his lumber jack beard. Looked better.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh yeah, what a pity. Got rid of his Joe-COCK-er-spermiel, erm, spaniel locks and colored the few rudimentary fluffs. And his face at the same time. And greased his armpits, too. And God knows what else. With henna. But his armpits struggle, as we all can see. He looks like a Hollywood sleazeball. Mh. Sounds like a cocktail. A snotty green one. With a yellow drinking straw suiting Vincent's teint. It's a pity to see what has become of him. He was cool once; now he's a cocktail. A COCKtail spaniel. I'm sad.

  17. The question I feel forced to ask myself is: in what capacity did VG appear at this pingpong party? As a real estate big wheel? As the nightwatchman from art district? Nikki Gaskells boy toy? What? And who is Nikki Gaskell? And how can he dare to pingpong around with serious businessmen and wear this belt buckle?

  21. I don't know if anyone will be able to answer this but.....I've emailed him on his contact email on the vincent gallo.com website and he has responded. This started in 2005 and I recently corresponded with him again. Although now I'm wondering if it is really him or maybe someone pretending to be him. I thought one of you would know. You all seem very knowledgeable. And great job on this blog, it's great!

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the blog, first of all :)

I did write to him years ago, too and he wrote back. It went back and forth two or three times. I pretty much had the feeling that it was him, but you never know for sure. However, I don't imagine that he has "people" around to do his mails somehow.

    2. Thanks for quick response.i guess there is no way to be sure. Although I also had the feeling it was probably him.....anyway that we can verify that he was in NY around the 4th to the 7th of jan?

    1. I didn't have the blog back then :)It was THAT long ago. Don't think that would be of any interest to him or make a difference, though.

    2. weren't you the one who had the I blew the brown bunny website?

      Delete
    3. That wasn't a very nice site to put up. It allowed many to slander his name. How would you like to have a fictional site put up in your name? One in which people could write in and tell of their fanatical/delusional sexual encounters? Bizarre. How do you think he felt about that site---- or people who knew him who may have stumbled across it.

  24. In his capacity as a real estate big wheel he has high class ramshackle huts to take care of in NY, so of course he's there from time to time. And of course he answers his emails on his own, because he's just too mean to pay anyone else for that. He's even that mean to refuse to buy me body lotion. I asked him. Years ago. Which was when he accused me of being vicious and evil. Just for that fucking crême du popo. Neither has he ever bought me a castle. He's a choleric and tightwad.

    1. I don't know who you are anonymous but I sure do like you. Even if nothing you say is true, it's so entertaining to read. If I had to describe my feelings I would have to say I am very fond of you and your words. Thanks!

  25. I advice everyone to keep away from him. He may seem nice and interesting and special at first sight but he`s poison. This is my personal experience with him. He´s sick and he sickens. He compensates his lack of love and spirit with his buying and selling and collecting hundreds of guitars and all his drivel but he has nothing to give. Nothing of true value. And no, I don`t hate him, I feel sorry for him. I wish you all the best, Vincent.

  26. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And believe me, I am trustworthy. As well as attractive.

  27. Everyone posting under Anonymous gets super confusing, and I'll add yet another. I don't know the guy so I can't give any opinion, I just think he is ridiculously good looking.

    ReplyDelete
  28. And even good looking when acting ridiculously, right. He may be sick and an emotional analphabet, also right, but a person one surely can have some weird fun with. And at least he's no dummie.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Good looking....mhm. I remember he even realized himself that he is the ugliest guy the world has ever seen. He said that. Yep.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh, don't mistake his real person with his alter ego. You shouldn't forget he's an ACTOR.

    ReplyDelete
  31. he can think he is the ugliest guy, it doesn's change the fact that I think he is super hot. yes! yes! Julia (that will be me from here on.)

    ReplyDelete
  32. He's NOT good looking, though I thought he was once and maybe sometimes he is. I had a little crush obsession, and now I am embarassed about it. I liked him for three years and would always hope to see him. I feel foolish. But he is smart and talented, there are many reasons why he would be attractive. Let's not be overly harsh. He does seem to have a repitoire of moves and sayings and gestures. I wonder how age will continue to treat him. I hope we are wrong and making awful assumptions based on our limited experiences (of being denied being his best friend or special love object) and/or that he expands and grows as a person to get beyond all this kind of behavior.

    1. I think he is quite attractive in an unconventional way :) No need to be ashamed about having a little crush - I mean, it's way better than having a crush on Justin Bieber or someone like that ;)

  36. I have been reading the drowning in brown message board. It is quite entertaining. Although I don't know what to make of it? What of it is based on reality and what are delusional rumblings. A fun read nonetheless. Julia

  37. It's completely delusional rumblings. Crazy stuff going on there. A waste of time in my opinion.

  38. Kacha2, in your forever-Vincent-Gallo-blog we found a picture of Vincent wearing a colorfully patterned shirt and dark sweatervest. It's on page 10, on the left. Could you tell us when that one was taken? Did you take it?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dear Vincent, this one goes out to you. For I know exactly that you read it.
Unwrap yourself off your new old rose colored comforter and listen, Baby.
In your interview with the German GQ you told me how you met Klaus Werner Fassbinder a hundred years ago, in 1982, in NY. Related to the opening of his Film "Querelle de Brest". Dear Vincent, you were ranting. The facts are:
Klaus Werner Fassbinder is neither called Klaus Maria Brandauer nor Rainer Maria Rilke nor Werner Herzog, but Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
The film you mean is named only "Querelle"; "Querelle de Brest" is the name of Jean Genet's primary matter.
You can't have met Rainer Werner Fassbinder at this premiere, because it never took place; at least not featuring the master himself (we mean Rainer Werner, not you). For Rainer Werner died in June 82, exactly: on the 10th of June. Before the filming was completely done.
Ergo I'm asking you: who did you meet when, where and why? My hint is: don't mix up the facts if you don't know them.
Now crawl back underneath your bedspread.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wow, little researcher. Good job. "primary matter" are you the person who wrote the Vice column? You sound desperate for attention. Were you even born in 1982? You were the interviewer? You should post the audio.

Maybe something was misconstrued. Maybe there was another screening or event that was not publicized. Why bring this up now? No wonder Gallo does not like to do interviews.

Who cares? Why are you stalking his eBay account?

      Delete
    2. You mean this awfully... special bedspread was an ebay buy? It didn't smell like that.
What has being born before 1982 to do with being the interviewer? Who cares?

  40. Hey A,(number 405)how do you know? How can anyone be sure? Curiouser and curiouser. I really found it quite comical to read though, I hope they keep at it. Delusional or not, its damn entertaining. :)Julia

    ReplyDelete
  41. It's comical, right. Nothing else.Vincent is crazy, but not as crazy as many people suppose. Or imagine he is. Trust me.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yes, he is crazier than we all can imagine. Vincent Gallo, why the fuck do you buy a volume control nob for 30$?! The body lotion I have asked you for would not have costed much more. See, you still don't know where to set your priorities. Please change that. I'm still waiting.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That is nothing. Did you not read about how he worked to get his studio to have all the cables matching before recording his first album? It's priceless to get things "just right" especially if things are no longer available / from the past. You must not have any interests or concept of value. Who cares about his priorities? He already has done much work and is admits he is rich. Is he supposed to spend that $30 on a trip to Chili's with a date or something?

      Delete
  43. For a date he's supposed to spend at least 300, that's my concept of value!

  45. Who wouldn't love a man who buys a $30 volume button? I'm glad I don't share your concept of value. I get everything by never asking for anything.
